The Real Truth About the 10th Amendment Movement

What is this 10th Amendment movement all about?

This question has inspired speculation from those who seem to know little about us and even less about history and the constitution. We do know that this speculation must be pretty widespread, considering “Tenther” was one of the New York Times’ “top buzzwords of 2009.”

When you get down to the heart of the state sovereignty movement, it begins to look a lot like the goals of the men who originally fought to create this republic. The founders chose to oppose a small number of monarchs in a far off place who held power over the colonies. We Tenthers have concluded that a similar situation exists today, though thanks to the creators of our republic we already have all of the tools to once again shed the tentacles of centralized power.

Where does that power go, once reclaimed from an outrageous Federal government? It goes to the people.

Every level of centralized government that is broken down gives average Americans more control over what they put in their bodies, where they go and how they choose to spend their earnings. Every layer of authoritarian control traps within it a bevy of natural rights and we are quite simply empowering average people to take back what is their birthright.

The next time you catch a writer or commentator characterizing this movement as:

  • A Republican resurgence
  • Driven by a desire to revive segregation
  • Inspired by delusional interpretation of the constitution
  • The efforts of radicals
  • A waste of time

Please remind them that it’s all about empowering THEM and all other Americans, too.

Once one breaks through the chaff and noise of the establishment media machine, the reality of our mainstream movement is so simple and so intuitive that it is attracting thousands more every day. Will you choose empowerment, or subservience?
